Jewish Rail Network (JRN)
The JRN unites and supports Jewish people while also welcoming our allies in the UK rail industry. Through our various initiatives, we are dedicated to creating a positive, inclusive and safe environment. We aim to create a sense of community and support while advocating for equality and understanding.
We strive to enable individuals to embrace their identity, define their future and contribute to a more inclusive and diverse rail industry.
Who Are We For?
The Jewish Rail Network is for Jewish people and allies who currently work in the UK rail industry.
People who identify as Jewish includes those who are ethnically or culturally Jewish and may/may not engage strongly with religious practice.
The UK Rail Industry includes people who work for Train Operating Companies (TOCs), Network Rail, Supply Chain and Consultancy Companies, Rolling Stock Companies (ROSCO’s) and other cross-industry organisations.
What Do We Do?
Social Events
Create informal environments for members to meet and network.
Discussion Forums
Create safe spaces for Jewish people and allies to share experiences and discuss issues relating to Judaism and Jewish identity.
Advocacy and Education
Advocating and educating around the needs of people who identify as Jewish in the UK rail industry – for example supporting religious observance and tackling antisemitism.
Regional Networking
Supporting people who identify as Jewish and allies to develop local networks, particularly outside of London.
Professional Events
Supporting members to develop their professional networks, create opportunities for new experiences and developing skills. This may be unrelated to Judaism and might also include outreach activities.
